magari manifesto

  1. Create art that is viral, nomadic, portable, versatile and subversive.
  2. Distribute art as a gift - release it and see how liberating this feels.
  3. Be fearless when it comes to expressing ideas and emotions.
  4. Experiment as much as possible.
  5. Random art is not random. Creative possibilities are everywhere.
  6. Continue to train and inspire friends to be art Ninjas.
  7. Make art that can live outside so that people can discover it at an ATM, on a car waiting for the light to change or in a secret hidden corner of the world.

What does magari mean?

Paula: Maybe you will win the lottery tomorrow.
George: Magari... And maybe I will also invent a cure for cancer.

The Magari Project
releases and liberates hidden truths, passionate yearnings, secret fears, and private confessions. It's all about uncertainty. I never know where they will end up.

These signs travel to surfaces like telephone booths, bank machines, cars, and buildings in cities all over the world. The small magnets are designed to be temporary installations that can travel from surface to surface. The intention is for people to discover them in public places like the inside of a phone booth and move them.

The signs for buildings and industrial magnets for cars are weatherproof and designed to withstand rain, snow and high winds. Many of these magaris have travelled and been documented already in Italy, Switzerland, New York City and all over San Francisco.

The functional objects (mousepad, pillow, table, lightbox) have been created to put a subversive spin on day to day tasks like using the computer, sleeping and daydreaming.
